Chronic sore throat is very annoying as well as it can cause pain and discomfort to anyone who is suffering from this condition. While some can get rid of this problem immediately after treatment, some people also suffer from chronic sore throat. Chronic sore throat is a persistent pain, throat irritation and itchiness that persist for more than 3 months. Mouth breathing is also one of the most common causes of chronic sore throat. Usually, mouth breathing is caused by nasal congestion. Supposedly, the nasal cavity moistens and warms the air that enters into the airways although this does not happen in mouth breathing. The air that flows through the mouth can cause a dry throat and mouth that may result in throat irritation and a hoarse voice.
Eating disorders that can cause induced repeated vomiting such as bulimia may also cause throat irritation because of the action of gastric acid. The throat may also acquire injury with the use of objects such as the back of toothbrush to induce vomiting. Obsession with the body’s size and weight, comfort eating and lack of appetite are some of the most common reasons of repeated vomiting that can irritate the throat which may result to chronic sore throat.
Chronic sore throat can be treated by having a healthy lifestyle such as stress reduction, healthy diet, boosting the immunity and knowing the causes of your chronic sore throat to apply the proper treatment for the problem.
